Students in Stephanie Clark's Science and Practice of Cheesemaking class have spent the semester learning about the wine- and beer-making processes and what cheeses pair well with each beverage. A joint program between Iowa State's College of Veterinary Medicine and Department of Animal Science will recruit animal science or dairy science students to pursue their undergraduate and veterinary degrees at Iowa State. Brian Whaley ('11 MS ag and life sciences education) has been selected to serve as the next chief executive officer of the Iowa Cattlemen's Association, effective Dec. 4. Whaley and his family own and operate Whaley Cattle in Eagle Grove, Iowa. He has experience in a number of organizations within the beef cattle industry, including the National Cattlemen's Beef Association and American Maine Anjou Association. More |
