STUDENTS GET HANDS-ON WITH WINE, CHEESE PAIRINGS

Students in Stephanie Clark's Science and Practice of Cheesemaking class have spent the semester learning about the wine- and beer-making processes and what cheeses pair well with each beverage. The class will culminate in a tasting event, during which the campus community will get to try the wine-infused cheeses the students made. More

NEW PROGRAM AIMS TO RECRUIT MORE VETS

A joint program between Iowa State's College of Veterinary Medicine and Department of Animal Science will recruit animal science or dairy science students to pursue their undergraduate and veterinary degrees at Iowa State. Upon graduation, they'll be able to practice production animal medicine, helping address a nationwide shortage of vets. More

HADEN PROVIDES A GLIMPSE OF THE FUTURE TO ASPIRING AGRICULTURE INSTRUCTORS

A high school agriculture teacher at Independence High School, Haden visited Iowa State's campus earlier this fall to interact with aspiring ag teachers. More

WHALEY NAMED CEO OF IOWA CATTLEMEN'S ASSOCIATION

Brian Whaley ('11 MS ag and life sciences education) has been selected to serve as the next chief executive officer of the Iowa Cattlemen's Association, effective Dec. 4. Whaley and his family own and operate Whaley Cattle in Eagle Grove, Iowa. He has experience in a number of organizations within the beef cattle industry, including the National Cattlemen's Beef Association and American Maine Anjou Association. More

Anne Dinges ('19 agronomy, global resource systems) works to further regenerative agriculture practices in her role as global regenerative agriculture manager at Griffith Foods. She especially enjoys interacting with farms of all sizes and crop specialties - from corn in the Midwest to black pepper in Vietnam. More
